about

Early in 1963, the music industry trade papers proclaimed "Pop-Gospel" the latest sound and predicted a wave of gospel music in the coming year.
Buddy Terry, in this LP, has taken a different look at gospel music. Yes, he plays improvised solos as one would expect; yet the context is much more natural. The voices are used as they would be in a church and Terry merely takes the place of the lead singer.
This album comes at a time when there is rekindled interest in religion and religious music. Buddy Terry has made his contribution one of importance.
